Cynerge is currently seeking an experienced administrator to support one of our Federal Government clients with their Infrastructure as a Service offering. Candidates will be part of a team that will deliver applications that modernize our clients’ business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy software code that will configure and manage our client’s Windows hosting environments
  • Create modules that will automate the management of infrastructure environments
  • Provide Windows Server and Windows middleware software support
  • Perform user management and troubleshooting (Tier-III Support)
  • Assist application installers with various tasks and troubleshooting of the system
  • Provide Windows Server OS and Active Directory expertise and guidance to the application installers and developers
  • Plan and build secure Windows server images, updates, break/fix solutions (Field Use)
  • Perform systems integration functions for Windows based projects
  • Shell programming and use of automated scripting packages (Puppet, BigFix, Perl, SCCM, etc) for system administration and software installation, management
  • Installation, configuration, and management of systems packages and various systems management tools (Puppet, ESM, etc.)
  • Configuration of multiple logical subsystems utilizing VMware
  • Assist software license managers with accounting
  • Assist in developing Windows based application patching/automation. Assist in PIV enablement and secure access.
  • Participate in team code reviews and design reviews

Prerequisites

  • 5+ years Windows Server System administration and engineering experience in large organizations having segregated development/test, QA, staging and production environments
  • DNS fundamentals, including diagnostics with Windows tools
  • Network fundamentals, including diagnostics with Windows tools
  • Specific experience with, and a thorough understanding of, disk partitioning, system imaging technology and system cloning techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a wide variety of cloud technologies a plus
  • Ideal – 1+ years of experience with configuration management tools (preferably Puppet, but others would be acceptable)
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code concepts
  • Understanding of network architecture
  • Experience with the usage of GitHub (or Git version control systems)
  • Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in a customer-facing work environment
  • Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Preferred – HUBZone residency (certified at https://maps.certify.sba.gov/)
  • Required – US Citizen or “green card” holder
